“Every flower, every leave have a lesson to offer” – This quotation teaches us that every part of nature, even the smallest one, have a lesson to teach us.
Here, at the Mitsuki Kyoto Ryokan, you can enjoy a small piece of nature throughout the season in our Tsubo-Niwa. Tsubo-Niwa is a type of very small garden that you can found in some traditional japaneese houses in Kyoto. Those gardens are praised for their beauty and for bringing nature and light into the house. The purpose is to bring natural light into the house and create a natural ventilation while the garden is also connecting the two parts of the house.
Depending of the time of the day or the season, the colours, the lights and the shadows will change and so the harmony through the year, as a reminder to appreciate the moment and to stay in the present. Snow in winter, green leaves in spring, birds enjoying the fountain in summer and Momiji during autumn… You will enjoy our Tsubo-Niwa at the Mitsuki Kyoto Ryokan in the morning from our breakfast room.
